Brush-Marker Lettering Workshop

  • Austin ArtWorks Center 300 N. Main St. Austin, MN 55912 (map)

Saturday, July 16th from 10am - 2pm (with 30 min lunch break)

Age Restriction: 18+

Instructor: Sally Wightkin

This workshop will introduce students to this popular style of writing using a variety of brush markers. Brush-lettering with a marker is easy to learn and could just get a beginner hooked on the wonderful art of calligraphy or it can re-invigorate the experienced calligrapher. This workshop will provide step-by-step demonstrations to help each student produce a ‘print style’ of writing with a larger, soft-tipped marker; and a ‘cursive style’ using a smaller, hard-tipped marker. Color and embellishment possibilities will be explored. Students will have what they need to complete a final project of card and envelope. No experience necessary!
