What is Dia de los Muertos?
Day of the Dead, or Dia de los Muertos, is one of the most important holidays in Mexico. Every year on November 1st and 2nd, past loved ones from the afterlife make the journey back to the living world to reunite with their families. It’s a joyous and special time of year which is why you will often see lots of vibrant decorations, traditional foods and more!
For this class, we will do an acrylic painting based on Frida Kahlo, who is one of the most influential female artists in Mexican culture. Sylvia will walk you through step-by-step in painting a portrait of Frida Kahlo using acrylic paint on canvas.
