Mower County Grown: Music in the Round

Sat Oct 12 @ 7:30pm

An intimate evening with local musicians playing in the round. Featuring Eleanor Sievers, Brandon Sampson, and Joshua Whalen. Come early for a meet and greet with the musicians and stay to hear originals and the stories behind them. Wine and beer bar available.

Brandon Sampson, lead singer songwriter, Six Mile Grove. It all started in Lyle, MN (pop. 500) with a skid loader and a fence post. Six Mile Grove frontman Brandon Sampson was 7-years-old when he injured his hand while helping his dad on the family farm. He was prescribed guitar playing for physical therapy, and a musician was born. Six Mile Grove has weathered 20 years of the tumultuous music scene as a self-managed, self-produced, and self-recorded band. Its music continues to evolve, as an organic, honest voice untinkered with and untainted by the lure of record labels or flashy music producers.  In their critically acclaimed latest album Million Birds, the band contemplates the humble human challenges of work, family, life and love; when to take risks, when to play it safe, when to fight, and when to surrender.

Eleanor Sievers is a 17 year old singer songwriter. She’s been performing solo shows around Rochester Minnesota for nearly three years at local venues and events. Her songwriting style is self-reflective and nostalgic, transporting listeners with its pop-folk fusion. She released her debut self titled EP independently in November of 2023. In 2024, she had the privilege of performing at several festivals including Midwest Music Fest, The Rochester Thaw, and Minnesota Original Music Fest. Outside of her solo career, she is the lead singer in local rock band Beginner’s Luck. Link to Instagram

Pain, suffering, hope, and love are common themes he uses to portray both the struggles and joys of life. As frontman of Whalen and the Willows, Joshua has released multiple albums and has performed all over the country. He is constantly discovering real life connections through the art of live music.
