Austin native and AHS alumnus Jon Stowell '99 returns to the Austin ArtWorks Center for a performance with his band Part Time Ex's on Friday, October 11th. Stowell is joined by Nick Tobar '03 on lead guitar, percussionist John Hicks, and bassist Jon Fischler. This is Stowell's 10th year of performing shows to help raise money to support the arts in his hometown. "In 2014 we played in the gallery space shortly after the lease for the building was signed. Remodeling hadn't started, we borrowed chairs and couches from the theater department at the college, there were holes in the walls we covered with old concert posters."

"This is my favorite show we play every year," Stowell continues. "Supporting the arts in Austin has always been a priority for me. I'm a musician because my family, school, and community supported my development as an artist. I hope we have helped continue to show that art works in Austin."

Part Time Ex's is a rock and roll band based in Minneapolis that plays a blend of original songs and covers. "I'm going to play a couple solo songs, some duo pieces with Tobar, and then we'll have the whole ensemble rocking through a super fun setlist. It's going to be awesome."
