Chasing 23 and Falling Interludes
Fri Mar 31 @ 7:30pm
In 2021 MacPhail Austin started a project to identify and place musicians who were interested in popular style music in performance groups. Youth performance opportunities for guitar, bass, drums, and piano were given to adults because younger musicians were not prepared to perform. MacPhail now invites students to participate in a band to perform live several times per year. We encourage the performers to work with other groups and we seek out performance opportunities. Past performances have included private parties, MacPhail Center for Music Minneapolis, MacPhail Center for Music Austin, Austin Artworks Center Open Jams, and the VFW. The musical style includes favorites from the 80’s-today.
Chasing 23 is a group of seven musicians:
Chase Collins, Vocals
Kaiha Gibson, Vocals and Bass
Bryer Mickelson, Piano and Guitar
Gabe DenHartog, Guitar
Trinity DenHartog, Drums and Piano
Mason Pacholl, Guitar and Vocal
Falling Interludes is a trio (Bryer Mickelson, Trinity DenHartog, & Mason Pacholl) who writes and performs original songs. Both Bryer Mickelson and Trinity DenHartog are virtuosic on multiple instruments. Prior to the group, they were creating music at home with no outlet to share it. Bryer’s piece “Farmers Daughter” was first performed last spring and has become quite popular with their followers. Other favorites include “Proud” and “Where have you been” by Trinity.
