La Cage Aux Blair 2020

Outdoor concert at the Hormel Historic Home Peace Garden with performances by a small string orchestra comprised of members of the Rochester Symphony and the Austin Symphony Orchestra, Roger Frisch (associate concertmaster, Minnesota Orchestra), Michelle Frisch (principal flutist, Minnesota Orchestra), Fr. Nicholas Mezacapa playing George Hormel, select Austinaires presenting senior solos under the direction of Kalle Akkerman and Jazz group. The show will conclude with a pre-taped message from Everette Bradley, a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, actor, dancer, choreographer and playwright. He is currently touring with Bon Jovi and has worked with Bruce Springsteen, Hall and Oates and Madonna.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the admittance to the event will be pre-paid ticket only. All present will be masked and observe appropriate physical distancing.

All proceeds will benefit Austin Public Schools music programs in memory of Blair Lawhead.

The Family of Blair Lawhead has arranged two other events for Austin music students this fall: A Givens Violins Open House in Austin on August 24 and a Zoom appearance by Everette Bradley to share his music and career advice with Austin Public Schools music students which is sponsored by the Austin Symphony Orchestra and will be scheduled at a later date.
