Austin Area Arts is pleased to announce a performance by Part Time Ex's on Saturday, November 16th at 7:30pm at the Austin ArtWorks Center as part of the "Music at the Bank" concert series.

"It's been a great year for the Part Time Ex's" says Jon Stowell, singer and guitar player with the Minnesota based ensemble. The rock and roll band has been cruising along since debuting a music video at the Austin ArtWorks Center last November, a teaser to an EP (extended play album) the group released at the end of May 2019. "The process of getting a recording project like that completed and released is grueling," Stowell continues, "it took all of our combined talents to make it happen. I'm proud of our band and the songs." Part Time Ex's self-produced debut release has been gaining attention regionally with radio play on several stations around the Midwest. "The response to the music has been great. I've always thought that getting the songs recorded has to be enough, to time stamp them, share them at the spot the art is at, at the present time, that's important. It's surprising and fun when the reach is further than that." The band has continued to reach new audiences this year, performing a monthly residency in St. Paul and distributing their new album across the United States and Europe. Stowell smiles, "We've made friends in a lot of places, they've been happy to share our sounds. Rumor has it we're getting some plays in Ireland and Amsterdam" Stowell, an Austin High School alumnus ('99) and Nick Tobar ('03), have been leading the Part Time Ex's for the last years several years along with percussionist John Hicks on Drums, Ben Hering on trumpet, and Benjamin Greenwald on bass. This will be the fourth performance by the band in the "Music at the Bank" concert series. "We love playing at the ArtWorks Center," Stowell said, "Austin is an arts community, and hometown support is like a warm sweater in fall." Part Time Ex's will perform two sets of music at the Austin ArtWorks Center on Saturday, November 16th beginning at 7:30pm, admission is $5. More information is available at www.parttimeexs.com
